Individuals who have a long career in their professional industry are often chosen for their expertise by select companies. Additionally, when a person has an MBA degree, many executives view the individual as having a vast knowledge of their sector, especially if it's coupled with years of work experience.
The International Game Technology (IGT), which designs, develops and manufactures gaming machines and system, recently appointed Vincent L. Sadusky to its board of directors. In addition to having an MBA degree, Sadusky has a vast experience in the multimedia and technology sectors.
Currently, Sadusky serves as the president and chief executive officer (CEO) for LIN TV corporation, a local media corporation based in Providence, Rhode Island.
"He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the media industry and adds a new and important dimension to our board," said Patti Hart, IGT president and CEO. "Additionally, his tenure as CEO of a public company will make him a valuable advisor to IGT's management team."
If you're interested in joining a board of directors, an MBA degree may be able to give you the strategic knowledge you need to make decisions on behalf of a company.
