Sometimes, individuals who have MBAs are chosen to take on executive positions because some companies believe that the degree can help shape people to become effective leaders.
David Goltz, who has an MBA degree, was recently appointed the chief financial officer (CFO) for Sterling Life Insurance Company, according to Benzinga. In addition to holding an MBA degree, Goltz possesses more than 20 years of experience within his field.
Prior to joining Sterling, Goltz worked as the regional CFO for AmeriChoice, which is a subsidiary of the United Health Group. He was in charge of helping to bring the company back to profitability and implementing compliance measures.
"I'm looking forward to working with Dave at Sterling. His broad Medicare managed care background and success in growing both new and established companies will be a tremendous asset as we grow Sterling's network health plans and further develop our managed care capabilities," Sterling CEO Michael Muchnicki told the news provider.
For those who are interested pursuing a higher level of responsibility in the finance sector, a finance MBA may be able to help you achieve those goals.
