Business experience is often translated as a positive characteristic of a company leader. This could be one of the reasons that MBAs are often chosen for highly ranked positions, as they have gone above and beyond in their education to ensure they're qualified to work in the business sector.
Douglas T. Dietrich has been appointed the senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Mineral Technologies Incorporated, a technology-based company that produces a broad range of mineral products. Dietrich will assume the role beginning on January 1, 2011, following the retirement of John A. Sorel, who is leaving after working for the company for 37 years.
Dietrich, who has an MBA degree, joined the company back in August 2007 as the head of corporate development and treasury.
"We are fortunate to have someone of Doug Dietrich's caliber and business experience to step into the position that has been so competently filled by John Sorel," said Joseph C. Muscari, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO).
