Sometimes, individuals who possess MBA degrees are chosen for executive positions because of their immense knowledge and their educational background. Even if the position is not permanent, many MBAs are chosen as seat fillers while the board of directors looks for a permanent executive.
Trevor P. Bond, who has an MBA degree, has been named the interim chief executive officer (CEO) for W.P. Carey and Company, an investment firm. Bond is already a board member, and will continue to serve the position while completing his tasks as temporary CEO.
In addition to having an MBA degree, Bond also has more than 25 years of experience in managerial positions. Serving as a manager for Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) from 1992 to 2002, in which he was also the co-founder of CSFB's Real Estate Equity Group.
"Trevor brings to this role extensive management experience and a strong commitment to our investors and tenants. I thank him for stepping into this interim position," said Wm. Polk Carey, chairman of W.P. Carey.
If you're interested in holding a managerial position, an MBA degree may put you on the fast track to attaining that goal.
